“Foraging for Kai” Annual 3

Johanna (Ngāti Tukorehe, Ngāti Kahu ki Tauranga, Pākehā) is a pretty useless gardener. That's one reason she loves foraging. She's amazed by all the useful things you can make with wild plants: food, medicine, clothes, ink, dye, and more.

She says it doesn't matter how much you learn, plants always have more to teach you. So do people, and she's grateful to those who've shared their knowledge with her over the years, like her dad, and the pūkenga at Te Wānanga o Raukawa, and all the other foragers she’s met on workshops and weed walks.
